Saturday 9th June 2012 will see the great annual Beeston Festival returning to Cross Flatts Park, Beeston LS11!

As a church we will be returning with our stall and look forward to sharing the good news with those that attend the festival. Previously New Horizons has taken part in the successful yearly event, bringing prophetic art, balloons, words of knowledge and encouragement, and most importantly sharing the gospel with those willing to hear it. We have had such a positive response each year and we look forward to what God has got planned for this year!

If you’re part of the New Horizon’s family and would like to get involved in any way then leave us a message or speak to you cell leader- and if you can’t make it, then you can join us in prayer for this event.

Let’s see the Kingdom of Heaven invade Cross Flatts Park! (good weather would also be appreciated) Amen!

Churches Together in Dewsbury carried out an outreach to show God’s love to the people of Dewsbury and surrounding area of Easter Week. Several churches combined together for the week of mission and through using the DShop were able to reach out in a whole range of creative ways to the town.

Literature, face painting, children’s activities, testimonies, stories, coffee, cakes, crafts and prayer were all combined together to touch people’s lives in a creative and powerful way throughout the week.

During the six days of outreach, over 1900 people came through the doors of the shop and many people’s lives were touched with the love of God.

Further plans are now being discussed for future combined outreaches in the town.

I became a Christian in Germany, 1988, and was a committed Christian for a few years. I was ‘on fire’ for God and I wanted everyone to experience the same joy that I had, but I fell away from God for many years until recently- and this time everything was different.

At first I wasn’t sure whether God had forgiven me or that He was really with me because I didn’t feel His presence. I was starting to doubt everything, but then I went on an ‘encounter’ and everything changed for me.

A couple of weeks before the encounter I was reading my Bible in bed when I felt like God spoke to me the words ‘I will transform you’. I felt like the words were being embedded in my mind as they literally kept repeating themselves, so I was convinced that I wouldn’t always feel the way I had and that God was going to do great things with my life. That night I knew that God would transform my life, but I didn’t think more of it until the day of the encounter.

When the encounter came, WOW, I can honestly say that it was everything I expected and much, much more. My cell leader took me by the hand and said that the screws of my depression were being tightened on me, and so she prayed for me healing. I was filled with the holy spirit and I was totally healed from my depression. I was given peace of mind that day, a calmness in my soul and a joy in my heart like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I was literally jumping for joy!

On that day God transformed me. I now know beyond all doubt that God is good, he keeps his promises, he truly loves us and wants the best for us. He has a plan for our lives and I think it’s truly amazing that He send his one and only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven. He paid the price for our sins that we could be brought back to God. That thought alone just blows my mind. Our God is a truly awesome God! It’s going to be an honour and a privilege to serve him.

Love from Jo

Substitute the word love for the word serve and see how it changes the way that you interact and love people.

We are told to love people as Jesus loved us. Jesus came to serve and so we must serve. I often think “what makes me as a Christian carrying the spirit of the living god inside me, different to a really really nice person?” I know a lot of super nice people that don’t believe in Jesus, but I can separate myself from them by being a servant and becoming lower- as Jesus teaches in Mark 9:35- “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

In giving up my life for someone, even in a small way, we learn more of Jesus and become more like him. We can be generous with our time, money and affections beyond what others consider comfortable. After-all, Jesus didn’t come to make us comfortable and He never said our lives would be that- but he does comfort us and gives us the strength and ability to be all that He asks of us… And the joy if giving and serving others is truly amazing.

Do something for someone else today!

Its time to dream and believe for the transformation of Europe!

This was the cry and declaration of over 1100 people who gathered from all over the UK and Europe and converged on Windsor Racecourse for a powerful time of worship, teaching, encounter and envisioning in Gods purposes at the ‘Power of a Dream European G12 Conference’ this October.

Delegates came from all over Europe including Sweden, Norway, Spain, Russia, Latvia, Portugal, Holland, Romania, France, Germany and the UK as well as farther afield from South Africa, Philippines, Colombia, Ecuador and the USA.

As a church we were excited to take 75 people to the conference and from the outset it was clear that this was going to be a very special time of encountering God and receiving revelation and ministry from the Holy Spirit.

During the first session the presence of God fell in the specially erected marquee as Pastor Wes Richards spoke on ‘Fulfilling the Dream of Jesus’ and led the whole room to encounter the Holy Spirit and receive his vision to reach their nation. People were crying and weeping before the Lord and continued to be touched by the Holy Spirit as Pastor Lennart Torebring from Sweden spoke on ‘Receiving the heart of Jesus’. The love and compassion of God was so tangible as he shared the heart of Jesus for people and spoke of their work in India amongst the slum children and how God was transforming hundreds of lives within the first few months. Their vision is to reach 30,000 of these children together with their families.

Each speaker continued to bring vision and revelation from God’s heart, as well as stories of what God is doing in their nations, and the Holy Spirit brought healing and deliverance to many throughout the conference.

On Saturday night, the conference came to a climatic end with a special concert from Martin Smith (ex Delirious lead singer) who led everyone into an awesome encounter and time in the presence of God. It seemed like ‘Heaven on earth’ was the expression of many who were there.

Lets dream and believe for the transformation of Europe as we carry the kingdom of God to our nations with great love and power.

Soulfire Revolution is not just a band, it is part of ministry that is founded on loving God and following his steps. They are part of MCI church which is located in Bogota, Colombia where they have more than 200,000 members. That’s where this ministry was formed. They went as missionaries to the US to take the spirit of their church to Miami, Fl. “Our hearts are for God and to follow the great commission. We’re all leaders in our church and we are constantly leading new people to follow Jesus. It’s much more than music it’s about guiding others to truly have an encounter with God.”

We had an amazing time with Soulfire in Morley with over 100 young people. Watch this space- we’ll upload some picture really soon!

Praise God for the most astounding, stretching and challenging experience on this sixth journey to India. Pastor Ian gave a word that this trip would be like no other trip that I had been on before and certainly it proved to be so true. Right from the onset the battle commenced to stop me in my tracks and any move of God. From the nail in my foot the day before flying to a traumatic flight including a thunder and lightening storm, then low fuel requiring a diversion to Bangalore and back again to Chennai it was clear that the enemy wanted to resist God’s purpose in this trip. But through it all God protected and eventually I touched down after nineteen hours and was greeted by the children singing at Jeroham Children’s Home making it all feel worthwhile. Staying in the home has been an eye opener in so many ways. Most orphanages are run separate from the people in charge and many people have asked Pastor Suhin why he stays with the children in the home also with his family. Pastor Suhin explained that God made him a father to the children so he has to treat them as a father would and care for them as a father so it becomes a home and not an orphanage. It was a beautiful picture of God’s heart for these children reflected in his life.

Not long after arriving I asked Suhin how on earth he was running the home without finances to which he replied “You are here for a month, God will show you Auntie how” and God certainly did just that. Day after day I witnessed the divine intervention of God’s provision so much so I cannot write it all down. By prayer and faith God has provided but financially they are not able to send nine children to school at present or afford a bore to be put in for water. The building of Jeroham Children’s home was carried out in stages and took three years to complete as and when God provided the materials. God is an amazing provider.

Throughout the trip, God moved in power and through the anointing of the Holy Spirit and authority in the name of Jesus many Hindus came to be delivered and set free in Christ. One whole family was beautifully set free – mother, father, two sons and daughter. Another lady from Bangalore was gloriously delivered, her face fully shining with the love of Jesus. Hindus need to be set free in Christ because of their demonic idol worship, which is so prevalent in India. An older lady whose arm just lay limp at her side and who was unable to move saw the Lord Jesus miraculously heal her arm after prayer. Another lady who had awful sores all down one side of her body started to heal in front of our eyes at the name of Jesus. Each engagement brought opportunities for more ministry throughout the trip. In the first week God opened an opportunity to dedicate a music CD and give testimony on Pastor Stephen’s half hour Tamil television presentation that aired three times in thirty nations. It was a divine connection that opened the way into Sri Lanka. God has opened many more doors in India and to the nations of Nepal, Malaysia and Sri Lanka with invitations to preach at two open air crusades one taking place in July next year.

On the whole the trip has been very successful, full of power encounters with God, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support, prayer and fasting throughout the trip.
